Boss of Deeside based Iceland Foods launches astonishing tirade on foreign owned supermarkets

Malcolm Walker, the ‘colourful’ boss of Deeside based supermarket chain Iceland, has launched an astonishing rant aimed at rivals Aldi, Lidl and Asda.

Mr Walker told the IBTimes UK

“We’ve beaten the Germans twice before and we’ll f*****g beat them again. There are the Germans and then there’s Asda, a bunch of f*****g Americans, we’re inundated with foreigners, Iceland is a British supermarket.”

The CEO of Iceland also claimed Iceland is already “as cheap as the f*****g Germans”, referring to claims that Aldi and Lidl are unbeatable on price.

In January Walker told an audience of business and charity leaders

“The last two, three years have been so tough and our profits are down, so we are in deep s***.  blaming pressure from German discounters Aldi and Lidl.

Meanwhile Walker is one of 103 business chiefs to put his name on a letter to the Daily Telegraph stating a Labour government would “threaten jobs and deter investment” in the UK.

In a letter to The Telegraph, the senior executives hail Conservative economic policies which they say show that “the UK is open for business.

Labour’s Chuka Umunna dismissed the letter as “orchestrated by the Conservative Party”
