Daylight robbery: Thief caught on CCTV stealing mobile phone from van in Connah’s Quay

Police are looking for a thief who stole a mobile phone from a van which was parked on the driveway of a house on Wepre Lane.

The brazen thief was captured on CCTV in broad daylight taking te phone from the van at around 6.25pm on Sunday.

The video shows him cross Wepre Lane to a house where a van is parked and locked on the drive.

He is seen walking along the passenger side of the vehicle, the owner believes the thief used some sort of device to open the passenger side door where he then unlocked the driver’s door from inside.

The thief is then seen to hang around the front of the van, at one point he is seen signalling what’s believed to be a waiting vehicle.

A red van was seen in the area several times and police say it could be ‘of interest.’

The man then walks up to the driver’s side door opens it and calmly takes an HTC 8 mobile phone before making his way to the waiting vehicle.
