Welsh Government grant supports Buckley Cricket Club improvements

Buckley Cricket Club has secured £18,860 in funding from the Welsh Government’s Community Facilities Fund to improve accessibility and install new flooring.
The funding aims to support the club’s ambition to be the most open, inclusive, and accessible cricket club in North Wales, reaching groups who may not have previously considered taking up the sport.
A capital grant scheme, the Community Facilities Programme is designed to support community and voluntary sector organisations, including social enterprises, by increasing opportunities and building resilient communities.
Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami and MS Jack Sargeant, who recently visited the club, welcomed the funding and praised the club’s work in grassroots cricket.
Mark Tami said: “I was delighted to be able to support Buckley Cricket Club in their application and welcome the news that they have been successful. It is great to see the Welsh Labour Government once again supporting local clubs in Flintshire.”
Jack Sargeant added: “Buckley is a fantastic community club with a real track record of improving access to grassroots sport. Thanks to everyone at the club for the great work they do.”
The funding is expected to help Buckley Cricket Club continue its efforts to provide a welcoming environment for all members of the community.
