Volunteer rescue team winches injured woman to safety at Wepre Park after fall down steep riverbank

A woman suffered a significant leg injury after falling down a steep slope at Wepre Countryside Park in Connah’s Quay on Saturday afternoon.
North Wales Police contacted North East Wales Search and Rescue following reports of a female casualty who had fallen and come to rest approximately halfway down the slope, wedged against a tree.
The Welsh Ambulance Service was already on scene providing pain relief when NEWSAR volunteers arrived.
Team members made their way down to the river and established a rope system, including a back line and a line across the river.
The casualty was secured onto a stretcher and brought back up the slope to a team Land Rover for onward transport to a waiting land ambulance.
North East Wales Search and Rescue wished the casualty a speedy recovery.
