Sunshine and highs of 19°C expected across Deeside this week

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Deeside is set for a warm and settled start to April as high pressure takes hold across the UK, bringing long spells of sunshine and rising temperatures.

According to the Met Office, the area will enjoy mainly dry and fine conditions throughout the week, with light winds and daytime temperatures gradually building.

After a slightly cloudy start, clearer skies are expected from Monday afternoon, with highs reaching around 17°C locally.

Tuesday is forecast to bring widespread sunshine across Flintshire, with cloud in central areas of England clearing by late morning.

North East parts of Wales, including the Deeside region, could see the highest temperatures of the day with 19°C possible in sheltered areas.

The warm conditions continue into midweek. On Wednesday, temperatures could climb to 20°C in parts of the north-west of England, with the Foehn effect helping to boost figures in some inland spots.

By Thursday, southern England may see the week’s peak at 21-22°C, though temperatures across north Wales are expected to remain firmly in the high teens.

Despite the warmth by day, overnight conditions will remain chilly, particularly in rural parts of Flintshire. Localised frosts are possible under clear skies.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Paul Gundersen said: “The UK will have a sunny start to April this week. Temperatures will slowly build, with highs of 21-22°C possible by Thursday. Other than a small chance of some light rain grazing the far southwest of England it will be a dry week too.”

UV levels are also beginning to rise, with moderate levels forecast during the week. The Met Office is advising people to take precautions against sun exposure, even in early spring.

Looking further ahead, high pressure is expected to persist into the weekend, keeping Deeside and surrounding areas mostly dry and settled.

A slight drop in temperatures is possible as the high moves west, allowing some cloud to drift in from the North Sea.

Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mike Silverstone added: “In western parts, under largely cloudless skies, temperatures of up to 20°C are forecast for Friday.

High pressure is forecast to remain dominant through the weekend and indeed at the start of next week, meaning a prolonged spell of settled weather for the UK.”

The spell of dry weather comes at the end of a particularly sunny and rain-free March. Full climate data for the month is due to be released by the Met Office on Tuesday.
