Spate of thefts in Garden City prompts warning to lock cars and remove everything from sight

Police are advising motorists in the Garden City area to lock their cars and remove everything from sight following a spate of “opportunist thefts”

There has been reports of thefts overnight on Sunday and Monday from cars where items that have been left on display.

Sgt Sharp from NWP Community safety said:

“It appears to be opportunist thefts, anything left in cars has been stolen including laptop, clothes, perfume, earrings.

Don’t give thieves an easy ride. Lock your cars and remove everything from sight.”

Earlier this month Paul got in touch with Deeside.com to warn about a theft from a relative’s car in Garden City.

It happened in the early hours of December 2 when a child’s hat and coat, a small amount of cash and a swiss army knife were stolen from a car on Sandy Lane in Garden City.

Paul said there a female was caught on CCTV checking car doors at around 3am – she was with equipped with gloves, torch, bags.
