Savers issues recall on three Rihanna perfumes over banned chemicals

Three Rihanna fragrances sold at Savers Health and Beauty have been recalled after they were found to contain chemicals prohibited in cosmetics.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards issued the recall on 5 March, covering Rihanna Kiss, RiRi and Rogue 15ml eau de parfum. The alert is rated serious.
The products contain butylphenyl methylpropional, also known as BMHCA or lilial, and in some cases a second banned substance, hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde.

Both chemicals are prohibited under cosmetics regulations. BMHCA may harm the reproductive system, may harm the health of the unborn child, and may cause skin sensitisation.
Only products bought at Savers stores are affected. Customers can check whether their product is included by looking for the following barcodes on the packaging:

Affected products should be returned to the Savers store where they were purchased.
A full refund will be given.
