The colourful bird was found by a member of the public at Delamere Avenue, Buckley on 13 September.

RSPCA inspector Mark Roberts collected the parakeet and took the tame bird to RSPCA’s Bryn y Maen Animal Centre.

“The parakeet is very friendly and had no injuries,” he said. “The bird was found in someone’s garden who took it into their conservatory.”

Animal centre manager Vicky Williams said:

“We have been looking after this parakeet, who has a very distinctive colour, for around two weeks expecting an owner to come forward.

“It is really unusual that no one has come forward. The parakeet is keeping us all entertained at the centre, but we would love to reunite the owner with their pet.

“We are appealing to anyone who may know who the bird belongs to, to get in touch.”

Bryn y Maen Animal Centre is based at Upper Colwyn Bay and is open every day between 11am and 4pm, except for Wednesdays.

To contact the centre call 0300 123 0745.
