Police launch appeal for witnesses after person ‘assaulted’ in Buckley
North Wales Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following an assault in Buckley on Monday afternoon which left a male needing hospital treatment.
Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest there were several incidents in the Buckley area where teenagers were attacked.
Rumours locally also suggest a firearm may have been used however police have moved to reassure the community that wasn’t the case and a BB gun was allegedly used.
One male, believed to be a teenager was injured and was taken to hospital.
In an update on social media, South Flintshire police said:
“On the 11th of February 2019 at approximately 16:30, a male was assaulted in the area of Home Bargains in Buckley.
We want to reassure the local community that the weapon mentioned on Social Media in this incident is NOT believed to be a firearm and is believed to be a BB gun.
The victim received treatment at hospital and his injuries are not believed to be serious at this time.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said:
“We received a call at approximately 4:30pm yesterday to an incident on Precinct Way, Buckley. We responded with an emergency ambulance and one patient was conveyed to Maelor General Hospital, Wrexham.”
Police have appealed to anyone who saw a silver Ford Focus in the area with any more information regarding the vehicle or to anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them on 101 quoting 19100043895 with any information.
