Part Time Bursaries Offered by Wrexham Glyndwr University For Students Living in Wales
Students living in Wales who join Wrexham Glyndwr University this year and opt to study part-time could save up to 40% on their tuition fees thanks a new bursary scheme.
The institution is offering bursaries as high as £1875 for eligible students who apply to study in 2017-18 and pay the remainder of their fees with a loan on courses costing £4500. Terms and conditions apply.
Places are still available on most part-time courses and people will be able to apply directly for these at this weekend’s open day.
Students will be told on the day whether they have been successful in securing a place, where possible.
Julie Cowley, head of marketing, student recruitment and admissions, said: “Studying full-time is not an option for many of our students who have existing work and family commitments and we remain committed to offering opportunities for all to study for a degree part-time.
“These new bursaries will provide a welcome financial boost for anyone considering undertaking a degree, recognising the considerable financial as well as personal commitment required.
“Staff from all academic areas and the university’s central admissions team will be on hand at our open day on Saturday to advise and will do their best to provide a decision on the day as to whether we can offer a confirmed place for study from this September.”
Students wishing to study for a Masters degree in the next academic year will be able to take advantage of new funding announced this week by the Welsh Government.
Students from Wales who enrol on a Master’s degree may be eligible for a maximum £10,280 loan from this September (2017/18).
The Welsh Government announced the legislative changes for postgraduate funding on Monday 5 June, in line with those unveiled last year in England.
Students beginning a full or part time course based anywhere in the UK on or after August 1 this year can apply for the loan.
The applicant cycle in Wales is expected to commence on Sunday 11 June, for a September 2017 entry.
