Welsh Water has said the burst pipe in Mold which has caused problems to supplies in Flintshire has been fixed.

Engineers are now planning on how to fill the water main back up after it was fully drained to allow for the repairs.

Work continued overnight on what was described as a ‘challenging repair’ for engineers at the site next to the A541 on the outskirts of Mold.

Water supplies in Flint, Mold, Northop and Flint Mountain have been disrupted since Wednesday due to the issue.

Tanker loads of water have been brought into the area to keep supplies running.

Bottled water was also being delivered to those houses without running water.

A spokesperson for Welsh Water said:

“It’s been a difficult job given the weather and conditions on ground but thanks for bearing with us.

We’ll now need to plan how we start refilling the water main carefully.”

Matt Hellen shared the footage on social media, it shows a huge leak from the burst pipe alongside Denbigh Road.

If anyone has concerns about their water supply contact the Welsh Water helpline on 0800 052 0130.”
