Mold Fire Station raises £4,500 for charities including Wales Air Ambulance

Firefighters in Mold have raised £4,500 for local good causes following their annual bonfire and fireworks display.
The popular event, held at Mold Alex Football Club, saw strong public support and raised funds for three charities chosen by the crew at Mold Fire Station.
Chief Fire Officer Dawn Docx attended a recent presentation event at the station to recognise the crew’s efforts during the 2025 bonfire season.
Among the beneficiaries was Wales Air Ambulance, which received a cheque for £1,500. North East Wales Search and Rescue and The Stroke Rehabilitation Centre at Deeside Community Hospital also received funding.
The Wales Air Ambulance was selected after firefighters attended several incidents alongside the service during the year.
The charity operates as a pan-Wales, consultant-led service, delivering hospital-standard treatments at the scene and transferring patients directly to the most appropriate hospital if required.
It relies on public donations to raise £13 million annually to keep its helicopters and rapid response vehicles operational.
Debra Sima, Regional Fundraising Manager at the Wales Air Ambulance Charity, said: “I was delighted to attend the recent event and meet the Chief Fire Officer Dawn Docx and the wonderful crew at Mold Fire Station, where we received a cheque of £1,500. The crew do a fantastic job every year organising a bonfire and fireworks display to keep the public safe, whilst raising funds for three important causes.
“We’re extremely grateful to have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the event. The Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £13 million every year to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most.
“Every pound donated really makes a lifesaving difference. Diolch yn fawr pawb!”
