GAP Connah’s Quay have swooped for wingman Mark Smyth

Mark Smyth joins the Nomads

Smyth, who made one Carling Cup appearance for Liverpool against Tottenham but was released from Anfield in 2005.

The 27-yera-old played for Accrington Stanley and Vauxhall Motors before signing for Bangor City in December 2006 and scored eight goals from 21 (+3) Welsh Premier appearances before leaving to join his former Citizens’ manager Steve Bleasdale at Leigh RMI in October 2007.

Smyth returned to Farrar Road briefly for the Uefa Cup campaign in July the following year and, after a further spell with Leigh, he was back at Farrar Road in November 2010.

Released in January this year he signed for Prestatyn Town and completed a career total of 25 goals from his 62 (+41) WPL appearances.

Smyth has been training with Huws Gray Alliance outfit Conwy Borough in pre-season.
