Man arrested after robbery at Spar shop on Welsh Road Garden City.

Police say a man has been arrested after a robbery at the Spar shop on Welsh Road Garden City.

Reports of a robbery surfaced on social media on Saturday evening, one eye witness said they saw a police outside the convenience store, they had taped the entrance of the shop up which was closed off customers.

Another person who lives close to the shop said they were ‘told’ there had been an armed robbery at the shop and money had been taken.

A Police helicopter was spotted performing low circuits over the Queensferry area just after 8pm on Saturday evening.

A male believed to be aged 21, was arrested by police in connection with the alleged  Spar robbery in Garden City and another attempted robbery at a petrol station in Flint on Saturday morning.

A police spokesman told Deeside.com:

Man has been arrested and remanded to court charged with attempted robbery at a Coleshill petrol station Flint at 6.30am on Saturday and robbery at the Spar Store on Welsh Road Garden City on Saturday at 8pm.

He is due to appear before magistrates today, Monday July 11.
