A series of virtual events to celebrate St David’s Day safely will take place today and throughout the rest of the week. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions the usual celebratory parade – which attracts hundreds each year – throughout the town centre is unable to go ahead. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

However in partnership with Flintshire County Council, Wrexham County Borough Council and Tŷ Pawb, Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam have organised a week full events to St. David’s Day from today until March 5. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Although the celebrations are different, organisers say they’ll reflect the fact that we’re all apart but together celebrating Wales’ Patron Saint safely from home this year. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Throughout the week all of the St.David’s Eisteddfod items and results will be announced. There’ll also be various activities including a virtual parade with a performance by Band Cambria, cookery recipes and much more. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

These will be shared on Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam’s social media platforms during the week. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

As part of the celebrations, a Taith yr Iaith Quiz by R. Ben Igwr (Llion Williams) will be held for the whole family on Zoom on Tuesday, 2nd March between 6-7pm. To book your place, email anna@menterfflintwrecsam.cymru. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Celebrations will come to an end with a special session from the band Bandicoot on Tŷ Pawb and Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam Facebook pages on Friday, March 5  at 7:30pm. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
