Resurfacing works on the A550/B5125 The Highway, Hawarden between the Gladstone Way Junction and the Tinkersdale Junction are to be undertaken over two consecutive weekends on Saturday 14 March, Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March.

To ensure the safety of highway users and our workforce it will be necessary to close this stretch of road to through traffic whilst the work is undertaken.

Local diversions will be in place.

The road will be open on Sunday 15 March.

Local businesses will remain open as usual and pedestrian access will be maintained for the duration of the works. Tinkersdale car park, off the A550, will remain open as normal.

The work is part of Flintshire County Council’s Road Safety and Carriageway Resurfacing programme and is part funded by the Welsh Government.

Cllr. Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment said

“This essential work is being undertaken to improve safety at the Gladstone Way junction and to the existing pedestrian crossing. We have endeavoured to keep disruption to a minimum and I would like to thank local residents and the travelling public for their patience and understanding.”
