Hawarden Players scoop Clywd Community Theatre Association awards

The Hawarden Players amateur dramatic group have again scooped some prestigious gongs at the  Clywd Community Theatre Association awards evening.

The event brings together ‘am-dram’ groups from across the region and its a time to  reflect on the past 12 months in local theatre.

The Hawarden Players received lots of positive feedback from the adjudicators that came to watch both Alice in Jungleland: The Panto, and the summer play Surprise Package.

Several members of the group were nominated for awards through the course of the evening, and of courtse came away with some winners awards

Denise Garland was the recipient of our first award, for her dedication and consistent hard work in costuming the group over the years, all while performing in acting roles, and being the group secretary!

Fiona Burdsall and Kevin Dye were presented awards for their roles as The Mad Hatter, and Dame Dolly respectively within in Alice In Jungleland, as well as co-writing the script!

And finally….

The Hawarden Players were presented with a special award for our community spirit!

The group were very proud to have receive this accolade a group spokesperson said on Facebook:

“Thank you very much for the attendance and support once again for the past 12 months, we really do appreciate it!
Next up is our panto, which we will be announcing all the details about very soon!!
