Flintshire: PD Tag sniffs out two suspects in one night

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Police Dog (PD) Tag played a key role in two incidents overnight, helping officers from Cheshire and North Wales Police dog unit track down suspects in Flintshire.

The evening began when a vehicle failed to stop for North Wales Police’s Roads Policing Unit in Caerwys.

After being abandoned on a nearby estate, PD Tag was brought in and successfully tracked a scent from the vehicle to the front door of a nearby property.

Officers say the occupants now have some “explaining to do”.

Later that night, officers were called to a reported burglary in North Flintshire.

A suspect had been disturbed during the break-in and fled the scene.

Once again, PD Tag was deployed and picked up a track from the property.

The suspect was found on a nearby footpath, claiming he was on his way to work.

He was arrested and taken into custody.
