Flint RNLI volunteer named Flintshire Young Volunteer of the Year

A Flint RNLI volunteer has been named Flintshire Young Volunteer of the Year at an awards ceremony held during National Volunteer Week.
Erin Brown received the award at the Flintshire Local Volunteer Council Volunteer Awards on Friday, 5 June.
She was nominated in recognition of her dedication and commitment to volunteering with the RNLI at Flint.
Erin received her pager shortly after her 18th birthday, following extensive training, and has been on active service for three years.

She received a letter of thanks for her actions during a service call in September 2024.
Wayne Kerfoot, Flint Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: “We are incredibly proud of Erin and everything she has achieved.
“Her dedication, resilience and willingness to help others reflect the values of the RNLI.
“This award is thoroughly deserved and is a testament to the hard work she has put into her training and service.”
Erin said: “I am really honoured to receive this award.
“Being part of the RNLI means a lot to me, and I am grateful to be part of such a supportive team making a difference in our community.”
