Mold Carnival brings back It’s a Knockout with free entry for teams of up to ten

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Mold Town Council’s Carnival Committee is looking for up to 18 teams to take part in a free It’s a Knockout competition at this year’s Mold Carnival on Sunday 5 July.

The event takes place at Maes Bodlonfa Park in Mold.

Teams of seven to ten adults are needed, with all participants required to be 18 or over and at least 1.4 metres tall.

Entry is free, but pre-registration is required and no entries will be accepted on the day.

Places are limited to 18 teams, and the games are expected to run for around three to four hours.

Businesses, clubs, pubs and community groups are among those being invited to take part, with fancy dress encouraged alongside branded workwear.

All competing teams will be promoted on the carnival’s social media channels.

Jane Evans, Mold Town Council’s Events and Community Engagement Officer, said:

“Mold Carnival is always a brilliant day out for all ages. After last year, we received amazing feedback from all the teams, who all had so much fun taking part, that we decided why not do it all again! I loved watching It’s a Knockout growing up, it always looks like so much fun! So we’re inviting teams to enter the competition, all teams can also join in the Carnival parade pre game; wear fancy dress or your logo ‘ed T-shirts and make some noise as the parade makes it’s way through the town onto the carnival fields, really make a day of it. Bring your supporters, your banners and your best game face and join us for a fantastic day of fun, laughter, and community spirit — and see if your team has what it takes to be crowned Mold Carnival Knockout Champions!”

Evans also said the carnival itself includes a range of free entertainment, including a dinosaur show, science workshops, live performances and a fun fair.

DJ Cookie returns for his 15th year at the event, again performing free of charge.

Entry to the carnival is free.

Sponsorship packages for businesses start from £50.

Teams wishing to enter can contact [email protected] or call 01352 758532 and select option three.
