Man charged after rooftop incident at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital

A 26-year-old man has been charged following an incident on the roof of Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital in Rhyl on Saturday 6 June.

North Wales Police said the man was charged with causing a nuisance or disturbance to an NHS staff member without reasonable excuse, and with refusing to leave the premises when asked to do so by a constable.

The full charge, as stated by a North Wales Police spokesperson, was that he “other than for the purpose of obtaining medical advice, treatment or care, caused, without reasonable excuse a nuisance or disturbance to a National Health Service staff member who was working there or was otherwise there in connection with work and refused without reasonable excuse to leave the premises when asked to do so by a constable.”

The incident was brought under control by North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

North Wales Police confirmed the arrest and charge on Sunday 7 June.
