Flint Lifeboat called out after distress flares seen over Deeside.

Flint Lifeboat was launched last night after a red distress flare was spotted over Deeside.

Flint Coastguard said in a statement:

‘Team paged by Liverpool MRCC to numerous reports of a red flare sighting, in between the Hawarden Railway Bridge and the Blue Bridge Queensferry.

Once CRT (Coastguard rescue team) on scene a search was carried out in the given area and further up and down river with nothing found.

Also in attendance North Wales Police and RNLI (Flint ILB).’

A second white flare was seen at around 11pm this was believed to be one released by the coastguard.
