Flint Coastguard team find missing man in Queensferry after six hour search

[vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/1″][text_output]Police and Coastguard team’s launched a search around the Shotton and Queensferry area’s last night for a missing man they had concerns for.

North Wales police control room sent out a public appeal via twitter just before 10pm last night for sightings of the man in and around the Wrexham Maelor hospital area, a second tweet said the missing male could have made his way to the Shotton area.

A police helicopter was seen for long periods over parts of Deeside while a number of police vehicles and officers were spotted around Rowleys Drive and Jubilee Street.

Holyhead Coastguard operation centre were called to help police with the search, both the Flint and Rhyl Coastguard rescue teams  were dispatched to the area to conduct searches close to the River Dee from The Flintshire Bridge to The Saltney Ferry Footbridge.

Coastguard teams were stood down at 4:30 am after no trace of the missing man was found however, while the Flint rescue team made its way back to their base a person matching the description of the missing male was spotted in Queensferry.

The team approached him and confirming his identification handed over to North Wales Police safe and well.
