Deeside man gets 30 months for domestic violence crimes
A Deeside man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for several domestic violence offences.
Alan Morris, 40, from Sealand, was handed down the sentence at Mold Crown Court on Thursday, January 4, after being found guilty of charges of controlling and coercive behaviour, stalking, and possession of a bladed article.
Detective Constable Andrew Jones, speaking after the sentencing, expressed his satisfaction with the court’s decision.
“I welcome the sentence passed today at Mold Crown Court,” DC Jones said. “This was a domestic violence case where the victim had to endure levels of prolonged assault at the hands of the defendant between 2021 and 2023.”
“After ending the relationship in March 2023, the defendant continued to attend the victim’s home address.”
“He also harassed the victim’s family and friends and made threats aimed at intimidating them.”
“Throughout the investigation, I saw the effect this volatile relationship had on the victim.”
“I have also seen the positive change in the victim’s character whilst the defendant was held on remand for sentencing today.”
“This sentence allows the victim, their family, and close friends, who have all endured the defendant’s behaviour for too long, the chance to continue their lives now without fear.”
