Deeside AM to host ‘Great Get Together event’ in memory of Jo Cox
An AM is hosting a Great Get Together and inviting all members of the local community to join in.
The Great Get Together is a national weekend of events inspired by Jo Cox, to honour her a year after her death and to get neighbours together to celebrate.
Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant is hosting The Great Get Together on Saturday, June 17, 12-2pm, at Connah’s Quay Community Centre on Tuscan Way.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic and there will be refreshments, face painting, colouring, balloons and music.
Carl Sargeant said:
Jo Cox said ‘We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us’. In the wake of the terrible atrocities in both Manchester and London, Jo’s words are more important than ever.
“It is in this spirit that I’m inviting my constituents to a fun community celebration – The Great Get Together.
There will be something for everyone and it would be lovely to see people of all ages come along to enjoy each other’s company.
I’m looking forward to seeing all my neighbours there.
