The Deeside Community Hospital League of Friends, has won the backing from local assembly member Carl Sargeant in this years ‘Lloyds Bank Community Fund’

Four local causes in every area will be awarded funding depending on the number of votes they receive.

In Flintshire, the candidates are the League of Friends, Kindness In Mind, Homestart Flintshire and NEWCIS.

The group with the most votes will get £3,000, the next £2,000, £1,000 and finally, £500.

Carl said:

“I decided to support the League of Friends because it’s a wonderful organisation run by dedicated volunteers, who really make a difference to the lives of my constituents, many of whom are going through extremely tough times.”

The Deeside palliative care drop-in service provides practical and emotional support for individuals and their families experiencing life limiting illnesses, not just cancer.

The award would help us continue supporting our drop-in and the services we provide at our Community Hospital which covers the whole of the Deeside area of Flintshire and outlying areas.
