Police investigating the murder of 19 year old Matthew Cassidy in Connah’s Quay at the end of May say they have arrested three more people this morning.

The arrest came following coordinated search warrants carried out in the Deeside.

  • 48 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
  • 38 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
  • 42 year old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All are from the Deeside area.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Supt Iestyn Davies said;

Despite one man having been charged and remanded in custody the investigation is still very much on going and we are determined to build as full a picture as possible.

The 19 year old woman arrested yesterday continues to be questioned and we are still eager to speak to anyone who can assist. Therefore I’m repeating our appeal for any information, no matter now insignificant you think it may be, to be passed to the investigation team as soon as possible.

The latest arrests come a day after police arrested a 19-year-old woman from Connah’s Quay on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Police were called to an address at Bethel Place shortly before 8pm on Monday, May 29 following reports of a serious incident.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and police officers, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

David John Woods, 19 also from Liverpool has been charged with murder and will stand trial in November.
