Update: The collision on the A55 North Wales Expressway eastbound near Junction 34 has now been cleared.

Earlier report: Motorists in Flintshire are facing travel delays this morning as multiple incidents, including a collision, flooding, and road closures.

Traffic is very slow moving on the A55 North Wales Expressway eastbound near Junction 34 (Ewloe) following a collision.

All lanes were initially blocked, with vehicles queueing for several miles back up the carriageway, lane one has since reopened.

Further travel issues have been reported on the A5119 Northop Road, where flooding is causing delays in both directions between Flint Mountain Park Hotel and Junction 33 of the A55 at Northop. Drivers are advised to avoid the route if possible.

In Oakenholt, a stretch of the A548 Chester Road is closed westbound between Paper Mill Lane and Ffordd Dewi due to flooding.

North Wales Police confirmed that the closure is affecting traffic heading towards Flint.

The flooding situation in Oakenholt has worsened, with North Wales Police North Flintshire issuing an alert earlier this morning:

“TRAFFIC ALERT – OAKENHOLT, FLINT
Flintshire Residents, the stretch of road between PAPERMILL LANE and the Roundabout in Oakland is currently closed due to severe flooding. Please find alternative routes to take this morning. Be safe on the Roads.”

Thawing snow has exacerbated flooding across Flintshire, prompting disruption on other local roads.

The A548 is reportedly partially blocked both ways from Llannerch-Y-Mor to Greenfield due to flooding.

The B5121 near Lixwm is impassable in both directions due to flooding, affecting the stretch from Ffordd Babell and Ffordd Groes to the Crown Inn. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
