Coleg Cambria Engineering Student Awarded Local Network Prize for Excellence

Coleg Cambria learner Paul McCormick has been awarded the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Local Network Prize for Student Excellence.

Paul currently works for Scottish Power and is studying for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Technology at Coleg Cambria. He has achieved Distinctions in all his modules during the two year part-time training programme and has consistently performed well throughout his studies.

Paul was sponsored by Scottish Power and was awarded this prize because of his excellent performance during his course which supports his role as a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Engineer.

The IET Local Network prize was presented to Paul by the Chairman of the North Wales Local Network of the IET, David S Crawford.

Paul McCormick said:

“This award not only acknowledges my achievement but also the commitment that Coleg Cambria and all its lecturers are willing to put into these courses to ensure that all students receive the highest standard of education during their time there.”

Coleg Cambria Executive Director of Curriculum Engineering and Construction, Nick Tyson said:

“We are very proud that Paul has been recognised for his excellent performance throughout his studies. By awarding this prize to one of our learners, the IET is endorsing our HNC delivery here at Coleg Cambria.”
