Flintshire Council has confirmed changes to its waste and recycling collection schedule over the Christmas period.

Collections due on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December) will now take place on Friday 27 December, while those scheduled for Boxing Day (Thursday 26 December) are rescheduled to Saturday 28 December.

However, during these changes, no recycling collections will occur on either date.

The revised schedule continues into the New Year, with Wednesday 1 January 2025 collections moved to Thursday 2 January, and other days similarly adjusted throughout the week.

Saturday 4 January collections will take place on Sunday 5 January 2025.

Garden waste collections will end for the season on Saturday 14 December 2024 and will not resume until Saturday 1 March 2025.

Due to budget constraints, the council has said it will not be printing new waste collection calendars for next year.

Residents are encouraged to check collection days via the council’s website or by scanning the QR code on the information poster below.

Flintshire Council also reminded residents to separate waste correctly.

Black bins should be used for general waste, while blue bags are designated for cardboard, paper, newspapers, and envelopes. Silver bags are designated for cans, tins, plastic bottles, tubs, and waxed cartons.
