Burglars who targeted Flintshire and caused “great distress to many people” have been sentenced

A gang of thieves who stole thousands of pounds worth of property in burglaries across Flintshire and the wider area have been jailed or given community orders.

Four men and a woman were sentenced today following a spate of 28 burglaries across Flintshire, Wrexham and Cheshire in which more than £110,000 worth of property was stolen.

The five, who are all from Wrexham are; Joshua Roberts aged 27, he received seven years six months; Connor Birchall-Roberts aged 21, six years; Ewan Mckenzie, aged 21, four years three months.

Steven Davies, 48  and  Tyler Gemma  Fenlon, 19 received 18 month community orders.

DI Mark Hughes said: “Operation Blue Leather was an investigation into a series of burglaries between January 5 and February 5, 2020 in which a substantial amount of property was stolen, causing  great distress to many people.

I am delighted at these sentences which demonstrate that there are serious consequences for such crimes and which will I hope reassure the public that we are determined to  pursue burglars and bring them to justice.”
