Annual ‘Quay Clean’ set to take place at the end of the month

This year’s annual Quay Clean will take place from the 27th of March to the 2nd of April. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The idea is simple, to pick up as much litter as possible from the streets and parks in Connah’s Quay. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Quay Clean is one of many local initiatives happening over this period as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s “Spring Clean Cymru” campaign. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

It is an annual event with sessions happening throughout Connah’s Quay. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

These sessions will involve the general public, schools, local businesses, Flintshire County Council, Connah’s Quay Town Council, Friends of Wepre Park, Keep Wales Tidy and the Our Back Yard project.  ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

There will be several opportunities to get involved over the week and the aim is to make this year’s Quay Clean bigger and better than the last.  ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Here are the dates, times and meeting points for the Quay Clean litter picks. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Wed 29th March, meet at the Community Gardens, behind the Job Centre (CH5 4HA) . 10 am – 12 pm. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Thurs 30th March, Broadoak Woods, meeting by the green railings on Hollowbrook Drive 2 pm – 3:30 pm.  ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Fri 31st March, Wepre Park, meeting by the visitor centre 10:30 am – 12 pm. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Sat 1st April, Central Park, meeting by the Cricket Club 10 am-12 pm. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

People are  being asked to join in for as long as they can, all equipment will be provided. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Wear suitable clothing and footwear. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
