Airbus FC player Tom Field nominated for WPL player of the season

Airbus FC player Tom Field has been nominated for the Welsh Premier League’s player of the season award.

The 29-year-old midfielder is one of three players who have been shortlisted for this season’s award.

Field has had an outstanding season equalling the club scoring record of 16 goals in a season set by Marc Lloyd Williams, he was also named in the league managers WPL team of the season.

Tom a former Everton youth team player, joined TNS for their UEFA Cup campaign in 2005, after being released he went on to play for Vauxhall Motors, Chester and Northwich Victoria, before returning to the Welsh Premier with Airbus UK Broughton in June 2012.

Last season’s winner Chris Venables is has been nominated again for the award alongside ex Airbus striker Jason Oswell of Newtown.

gap Connah’s Quay winger Sean Miller has been shortlisted for Corbett Sports WPL 2014/15 Young Player of the Season.

Sean a product of the Chester FC youth system joined The Nomads in the summer of 2014, in his first season at Deeside he notched 11 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.

The 20-year-old Englishman has had another outstanding season bagging 8 goals in 30 WPL starts, 11 in all competitions.

Other accolades include Welsh Premier League Player of the Month in November 2014.

Sean signed a two-year deal at Deeside in December 2014.

Two others join Sean on the shortlist, Rhyl FC Defender Ryan Astles, aged 20 and Newtown AFC’s Matty Owen also 20.

The winners  will be announced at the league’s AGM on Saturday 6th June in Aberystwyth.
