Motorists in Flintshire are advised of overnight closures on the A494 Mold Bypass, as routine maintenance is scheduled to take place over three nights from 15th to 18th October.

The work, aimed at ensuring the road remains in good condition, will involve full closures of the A494 during off-peak hours to minimise disruption to traffic.

The closures will begin on 15th October at 7:00 pm, with the road reopening each morning by 6:00 am.

The first section affected runs between New Brighton Roundabout and Wylfa Roundabout.

On 16th October, the closure moves to the stretch between Wylfa Roundabout and Bromfield Roundabout, and on the final night, 17th October, the closure will affect the road from Bromfield Roundabout to Bryn Coch Roundabout.

Drivers will be diverted via the A5119 and A541, with diversion signs in place throughout the period.

Traffic Wales has assured the public that the timing of the maintenance—scheduled for overnight hours—is intended to cause minimal inconvenience, as these are historically lower traffic times.

Traffic Wales also noted that the dates for the closures are provisional and could change if necessary.

Those who regularly travel through the area are encouraged to stay updated via Traffic Wales, which will provide real-time information through its social media platforms.
