Trains between Wrexham and Bidston are severely disrupted due to “extreme rail adhesion issues”

Train services between Wrexham, Shotton and Bidston are severely disrupted again today due to slippery rails.

Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) say ‘Due to forecasted slippery rails between Wrexham Central and Bidston trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.’ with some services being cancelled.

Due to the current, extreme, rail adhesion issues on the gradients through Buckley, one train broke down earlier, another train was sent to provide assistance. says ATW

Buses replaced trains at one point today and delays are expected throughout the day’s train service, buses may replace trains at short notice.
