When the clocks change in 2025 and 2026

The UK will move back to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) at 2am on Sunday 26 October 2025, with clocks going back by one hour.
This marks the end of British Summer Time (BST), the period when the clocks are moved forward by one hour to make better use of daylight in the evenings.
The clocks go forward in the UK at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back at 2am on the last Sunday in October.
The dates for the next three years are:
2025
-
Clocks go forward: Sunday 30 March
-
Clocks go back: Sunday 26 October
2026
-
Clocks go forward: Sunday 29 March
-
Clocks go back: Sunday 25 October
2027
-
Clocks go forward: Sunday 28 March
-
Clocks go back: Sunday 31 October
When the clocks go forward, the UK moves to British Summer Time, meaning more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings. When they go back, the country reverts to Greenwich Mean Time, giving lighter mornings and darker evenings.
