Welsh Water says it has restored the majority of water supplies affected by a burst main in Broughton.

The company said the network was refilled overnight following the repair, restoring supplies to areas affected on Saturday, including Flint, Holywell, Ffynnongroyw, Greenfield, Llanerch y Mor, Mostyn, Oakenholt, Talacre, Whitford and Mancot.

However, some properties in Connah’s Quay are experiencing temporary discolouration. Welsh Water says this is the result of moving water around the network to maintain supplies and will clear.

Customers experiencing discolouration are advised to run taps for a short time to help resolve the issue.

Welsh Water is contacting customers on its Priority Services Register and households it believes may be affected. A bottled water station remains open as a precaution at the Jade Jones Pavilion in Flint, postcode CH6 5ER.

A spokesperson said: “Please be assured we are working hard to resolve this significant incident as quickly and safely as possible, so that we can fully restore water supplies by this morning.”
