Reminder for residents in Flintshire to renew garden waste collection service

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Flintshire County Council is reminding residents to renew their subscriptions for the garden waste collection service, which runs from 1 March to 28 November 2025.

While residents can subscribe at any time during the year, the Council encourages early subscriptions to ensure access to the full collection season and to avoid the higher rate for offline payments later in the year.

2025 Rates:

  • £35 per bin: This rate applies to all subscriptions made on or before 27 February 2025 or online at any point during the season.
  • £38 per bin: This higher rate applies to subscriptions made offline after 3 March 2025.

Councillor Glyn Banks, Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Transportation, said:

“As we look forward to the 2025 season, I’d like to encourage residents to sign up early for this very popular service so that they benefit from the full collection service and reduced rate.”

“The brown bin collection is a great service to help residents recycle more, and the garden waste collected is composted and made available free of charge to residents at Household Recycling Centres.”

How to Renew

Renewals can be completed:

  • Online: Via the Council’s Garden Waste webpage.
  • By Phone: Call 01352 701234.
  • In Person: Visit your local Connects Centre.

Existing Subscribers

Residents who subscribed in 2023 or 2024 and received an RFID-enabled sticker will not need a new one.

Once the 2025 subscription is confirmed, their current sticker will remain active. Those subscribing for the first time will receive a sticker pack upon registration.

The Council has advised that the payment system will be unavailable from 6pm on Thursday 27 February until 8am on Monday 3 March.

Residents are encouraged to plan renewals accordingly to avoid disruptions.

For further details or to subscribe, visit the Council’s website or call 01352 701234.
