North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Andy Dunbobbin is inviting business owners across the region to participate in his first online advice surgery. The virtual event will take place on 15 January 2025 via Microsoft Teams, running from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

This initiative is part of the Commissioner’s broader efforts to strengthen ties between local policing and communities, with a specific focus on businesses. The forum will offer business owners a platform to raise concerns, share feedback, and propose changes to policing strategies.

In a statement, Mr Dunbobbin highlighted the challenges faced by businesses, including shoplifting, staff-targeted violence, vandalism, and other crimes. “This upcoming online surgery for the North Wales business community marks a significant step forward in our efforts to strengthen the bond between me and the communities we serve across North Wales,” he said.

He added: “By embracing this digital format, we’re making it easier than ever for busy business owners to have their voices heard, regardless of their location. I am determined to work with business owners, North Wales Police and other agencies to help reduce [crime] and am looking forward to speaking to the region’s business community to hear their thoughts, discuss their problems and to act on their concerns.”

The event will feature representatives from the Commissioner’s office and North Wales Police, ensuring a wide range of issues can be addressed. While the Commissioner is open to receiving questions during the forum, attendees are encouraged to submit their queries in advance to allow sufficient preparation.

Booking is essential to manage attendance and ensure that issues discussed remain focused on policing, crime, or community safety. Slots are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Although the Commissioner cannot directly intervene in operational matters or investigate complaints about individual police officers, he is keen to hear how policing can better serve businesses. His office will also provide signposting to other agencies where necessary.

To book a place, business owners can contact the Commissioner’s office by email at [email protected], by phone at 01492 805486, or by post at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner North Wales, Police Headquarters, Glan y Don, Colwyn Bay, LL29 8AW. Joining details will be sent to confirmed attendees closer to the date.
