Mold Town Council Community Awards Scheme 2025 open for nominations

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Mold Town Council has officially opened nominations for its 2025 Community Awards Scheme, inviting residents to recognise individuals, businesses, and groups that have made an exceptional contribution to the community.

Now in its fifth year, the scheme celebrates the efforts of those who go above and beyond to make Mold a better place to live, work, and visit.

Mayor of Mold, Councillor Brian Lloyd, praised the scheme’s ongoing success: “The Mold Town Council Community Awards both acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of people who live, work, study, and volunteer in our town—those who have gone the extra mile over the last year to help and support others or who have made a difference to their community.

“Each year, we’ve been overwhelmed by the response, and I have been honoured to be part of the judging panel. I am once again looking forward to reading through the nominations and hearing the great stories behind them. I encourage as many people as possible to nominate the individuals, businesses, or organisations in Mold who deserve a public thank you.”

Categories and How to Nominate

The awards cover five key categories:

  1. Volunteering Awards – Two awards for individuals or groups who have significantly impacted their community, with one award for those under 25 and another for those 25 and older.
  2. Business of the Year – Recognising businesses committed to serving the community, whether through charity work or exceptional service.
  3. Sporting Achievement Award – Honouring individuals or groups for outstanding sporting performance, coaching, or encouragement of others in sports.
  4. Community Project/Event of the Year – Highlighting successful projects or events that have benefitted the community, such as charity fundraisers or environmental initiatives.
  5. Mayor’s Choice Award – Chosen directly by Councillor Lloyd, this award recognises extraordinary contributions to Mold or individuals who inspire others.

There is no limit to the number of nominations per person, and nominations can be submitted for multiple categories or individuals. Submissions must include a reason for the nomination to be considered by the judging panel.
