Lane closure causes congestion on A55 and surrounding roads

Drivers are facing long delays on the A55 in Flintshire today as emergency barrier repairs continue following a serious collision at the weekend.
Lane two remains closed in both directions between junction 31 at the A5151 (Caerwys) and junction 32 at the A5026 (Holywell).
The closure is in place to allow for the replacement of barriers damaged in Saturday’s crash, which shut the road for several hours.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision involving an HGV that crossed the central barriers.
Four people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, following a road traffic collision on the A55 yesterday afternoon. More here: https://www.deeside.com/four-hospitalised-following-major-incident-on-a55-further-delays-today-as-repairs-carried-out/
Traffic is reported to be stop-start westbound, with congestion stretching to Ewloe.
Queues are also affecting approaches to the New Brighton Roundabout and Chester Road through Flint as drivers seek alternative routes.
Lane one remains open in both directions, but Traffic Wales has warned that delays are likely to persist throughout the day.
