Four men have tragically died following a road traffic accident in Denbighshire on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called at 11:39am on Saturday morning to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A5 in Corwen.

The incident involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Zafira.

North Wales police have said on Saturday evening:

“Tragically three young men from the Corwen area who were in the Astra died at the scene.”

The occupants of the Zafira, two men from the Merseyside area, were treated at the scene for serious injuries and flown to hospital in Stoke.

Police say: “Sadly, one of the gentlemen taken to Stoke, later died as a result of his injuries.”

Police say the families of all the victims of the incident have been updated.

Five medical vehicles plus two air ambulances were sent to the scene of the incident along with the fire service.

Police say investigations are continuing.

Witness Appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, specifically keen to speak to the female driver of a ‘small red vehicle’ and those connected to a dark/black 4×4 vehicle, both who arrived from the Corwen direction and assisted at the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting incident number S178591
