Davina, Dewi and Dafydd search for new forever home this St. David’s Day

Three rescue animals with St David’s Day-inspired names are seeking new homes from the RSPCA’s Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre.

Davina the cat, Dewi the dog and Dafydd the cockerel are three of the animals seeking a second chance of happiness from the RSPCA centre, at Upper Colwyn Bay, as people across North Wales and beyond mark the day of the patron saint of Wales.

One cats presently in the centre’s care is Davina. She was collected by an RSPCA officer after being found skinny and with significant fur loss in the Tywyn area.

Davina is a black and white cat, who is affectionate, friendly and has a strong personality, and would suit a family with experience of cats, who will respect her independent nature, and eagerness to explore outside.

Earlier this year, lurcher crossbreed Dewi came into the RSPCA’s care. He’s approximately one-year-old, and has an infectious, loving nature, and enjoys nothing more than being rewarded with a treat.

Dafydd the cockerel came into the RSPCA’s care as a stray. The charity hopes someone will look to add him to their flock this St David’s Day, with the young cockerel, approximately one-year-of-age, and seeking female companions.

Melanie Kermode, from the RSPCA Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre, said: “Davina, Dewi and Dafydd are three of the beautiful animals at our Bryn-y-Maen Animal looking for a second chance of happiness this St David’s Day.

“Davina is a domestic shorthair crossbreed with bags of cat-titude! She adores attention, but has an independent side so craves plenty of outside space to explore.

“For those seeking a doggy companion, anyone with an active lifestyle would love to meet the gorgeous lurcher crossbreed Dewi. He came into our care at the beginning of the year, and has been through an ordeal after being an abandoned, but is such a happy young dog.

“Dafydd, meanwhile, is such a handsome young cockerel – who is on the search for female friends. We’re hoping someone will take a shine to him, and want to add him to their flock.

“As people all across the country celebrate St David’s Day, we really hope Davina, Dewi and Dafydd will catch the eye of the perfect prospective owners – and ensure yet more happy endings for the RSPCA.

“Rescue animals can be such rewarding companions – and we’d urge anyone able and willing to add a pet to their family to come and visit us at Upper Colwyn Bay. Our centre is open six days a week – every day except Wednesday – between 11am and 4pm.”
