Updated: A55 back open between Halkyn and Northop following earlier collision

Update: The road has fully reopened.

Earlier report: A collision has closed the A55 eastbound between Pentre Halkyn and Northop this afternoon, with one lane also closed westbound.

Traffic Wales said the incident has shut the eastbound carriageway between junction 32A for the A5026 at Pentre Halkyn and junction 33 for the A5119 Northop Road.

An update issued at 15:31 said lane two of the westbound side is also closed between junction 33 Northop and junction 32 Holywell.

The eastbound closure is expected to remain in place for several hours and drivers are being warned to expect long delays and find alternative routes.

Traffic monitoring website Inris states: ‘Road closed due to collision on A55 Eastbound between J32A A5026 (Pentre Halkyn) and J33 A5119 Northop Road (Northop). One lane is closed westbound
