Birkenhead man sentenced after violent attack on woman in Hawarden

A Birkenhead man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman in Hawarden and a series of driving offences.
Gordon Duncan, 32, of Devonshire Road, Birkenhead, appeared at Mold Crown Court today, Thursday 4 June, for sentencing.
At a previous hearing, he admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident in Hawarden in the early hours of 21 February.He also admitted dangerous driving and other motoring offences.
Duncan was sentenced to 20 months in prison, suspended for two years.
He was also banned from driving for five years, after which he must pass an extended driving test.
The victim suffered serious facial injuries in the attack and went to a friend’s house, where police were called.
After numerous attempts to locate Duncan, North Wales Police arrested him in Birkenhead on 26 March.
