A55 eastbound reopens but queues remain after two collisions

Update: A55 eastbound between Holywell and Northop has reopened after a crash. Delays remain with another collision reported in the queues before J32.

Earlier report: The A55 has been closed eastbound following a road traffic collision.

The incident happened between junction 32 for Holywell (A5026) and junction 33 for Northop (A5119).

North Wales Police said the eastbound carriageway between Northop and Mold was shut due to a road traffic collision

At 11.40am, Traffic Wales confirmed the road had been fully closed in both directions to allow an air ambulance to land at the scene.

According to traffic monitoring website, Inrix, the ‘westbound side is also partially blocked to assist.’

Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes. There is queueing traffic in both directions and delays are expected until the scene is cleared.
