Two more Flintshire councillors join Reform UK, taking party total to six

Reform UK now holds six seats on Flintshire County Council after two more councillors said they had joined the party.
Cllr Dale Selvester, who represents Queensferry and Sealand, confirmed the move in a Facebook post on 1 July.
“I have made the decision to join Reform,” he said.
“I have spoken to residents within my ward prior to joining and the reception I received was extremely positive.
“I will continue to serve my community in the same manner and ensure my residents views are heard.”
Cllr Mike Peers, who represents Buckley: Pentrobin and also sits on Buckley Town Council, has also joined the party.
His move was announced by Cllr Kristian Salkeld, the Reform UK councillor for Leeswood, on Facebook.
“We’re very excited to announce that Mr Mike Peers has officially joined Reform UK,” Salkeld said.
“Mike is a huge asset to us, with vast experience across the board.
“Mike is the Councillor for Buckley Pentrobin.
“He’s also on the Buckley town council.
“Welcome to the team Mike.”

Both Cllr Selvester and Cllr Peers had previously sat as Independent councillors.
Kristian Salkeld was elected as a councillor for the Leeswood and Pontblyddyn ward on Flintshire County Council on January 22.
This historic by-election marked Reform UK’s first-ever seat on the council
Cllr Ian Hodge, who represents Holywell East, and Cllr Helen Brown, who represents Hawarden: Aston, both joined the party from Independent positions on 9 April.
Cllr David Richardson, who represents Connah’s Quay: Golftyn, joined Reform UK on 16 April, having previously been registered as non-aligned.
The additions of Cllr Selvester and Cllr Peers take Reform UK’s total on Flintshire County Council to six.
