Sustainable brand Lucy & Yak expands with new Chester shop
Socially and environmentally conscious lifestyle brand Lucy & Yak is opening its twelfth store in Chester city centre on Friday, 25 July 2025.
The new shop is located at 6-8 St Werburgh Street, close to Chester Cathedral.
Its softened pink frontage blends with the city’s historic character, while inside customers can explore the latest collections in a warm, inviting space decorated with pastel colours and wooden furnishings.
Lucy & Yak is partnering with a local mural artist to create a unique artwork behind the till point, with the artist to be announced soon.
The store is fully accessible with five standard changing rooms and one accessible changing room at street level.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, the Chester store participates in the Re:Yak BuyBack scheme, encouraging customers to bring in clean Lucy & Yak items in any condition in exchange for money-off vouchers towards future purchases.
Lucy Greenwood, co-founder of Lucy & Yak, said:
“We can’t wait to open the doors to our new shop in Chester, growing our northern presence further. The new space will offer another hub for creativity and community, giving us a chance to engage with our customers in person — we’ve absolutely loved meeting you all. I’m also really excited that we’ll be working with a local mural artist to bring more community creativity to the space — we’ll be announcing who we’re working with very soon. The teams are currently working hard to bring more localised events and community meet ups to our little pink shops, which you can keep an eye on on our website — there’s lots of exciting things to come!”
In addition, the Chester shop will host monthly sensory-friendly shopping days, adapting the space with dimmed lighting, reduced noise, and limited customer numbers to create a comfortable environment for those with sensory sensitivities.

Opening hours from 25 July are:
Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm
Saturday, 9am to 6pm
Sunday, 11am to 5pm
Lucy & Yak’s Chester shop will also serve as a Re:Yak hub, supporting the brand’s circular economy initiatives, including opportunities to recycle, repair, or upcycle clothing.
