Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant has helped spread some Christmas cheer to families who have suffered abuse.

This week, he donated selection boxes to Welsh Women’s Aid for distribution to children in refuges across Wales.

He said:

“Many families will be waking up this Christmas morning in refuges, having fled abusive homes and relationships.

“Although they have taken a huge, brave step, it will still be very difficult for them being away from their homes and in some cases, extended family.

“By donating a present to Women’s Aid, you can make sure every child has something to open on Christmas Day, no matter what their family situation is.”
