Santa’s elves have arrived at Broughton Shopping and Leisure ready to deliver mischief and merriment to shoppers throughout the festive season.

In the run-up to Christmas*, the elves will be paying shoppers at Broughton Shopping and Leisure plenty of visits, spreading the festive cheer with their random acts of kindness, as well as some extra special surprises.

Visitors are encouraged to snap an ‘Elfie Selfie’ with either one of the real elves, or one of the small hidden plush elf toys and life-size elf, which will be stationed at a different spot each week – by tagging #ElfAtBroughton on social media to automatically be entered into a draw to win a £250 gift card.

Amongst all the fun, Broughton Shopping and Leisure is also encouraging shoppers to give back to those in need this festive season, naming Nightingale House Hospice as its official community Christmas partner.

Visitors can donate a small gift to the charity, by dropping unwrapped presents to the Management Suite next to Card Factory.

To help people get into the festive spirit, shoppers can also enjoy a range of Christmas performances throughout December from Chester Operatic Society, Dee Sign Choir and Porthywaen Silver Band.

They can also capture their very own Christmas moments in the three giant selfie baubles, in the form of a Snowman, Christmas Elf and Santa, located near Hawarden Farm Shop.

Alan Barker, Centre Manager at Broughton Shopping and Leisure said: “They might be cheeky, but our elves are full of fun and there’s nothing they like more than spreading Christmas cheer.

Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year at Broughton Shopping and Leisure and we have a wide range of retailers, restaurants and leisure outlets for everyone to enjoy over the festive period.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone down over the coming weeks in the run up to the big day!”

Broughton Shopping and Leisure will have extended late-night opening hours in the lead-up to Christmas. From Monday 9th December until Monday 23rd December, stores will be open until 9pm on weekdays.

Elves will be at Broughton between 12-4pm on:

  • Saturday 21st December
  • Sunday 22nd December
  • Monday 23rd December
  • Tuesday 24th December
